Christmas holidays in London
Make your Christmas in the capital truly special with some sensational seasonal events. London, already a truly awesome city, becomes even more vibrant at this time of year. As well as beautiful Christmas lights and gorgeous Christmas trees brightening the shopping streets, you will find that many year-round attractions are enhanced with seasonal extras such as Christmas fairs, Christmas markets and ice rinks.
Giant glistening icicles, snowflakes and frosty crystals will decorate the area around the London Eye throughout the season. The London Eye itself will be turned icy blue for the Christmas period. If you are feeling flash, book a Mistletoe Cupid’s Capsule flight on the BA London Eye. For those that love Ice skating, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is a treat. For fun on a budget, many of London’s special events are free: the Christmas Carol Concert at the Horniman Museum, a guided Christmas walk in Hyde Park, the Pantomime at Kew Gardens and the Spitalfields Winter Festival to name but a few.
Christmas Day is the one day of the year when London’s restaurants, shops and attractions are closed. The Rembrandt’s 1606 Lounge Bar will be open throughout Christmas. In addition, the restaurant will be open on selected days, however table bookings are essential. So you can pop in and share some Christmas cheer and soak up the special atmosphere. And if you are still in good spirit, then proceed to the Brompton Oratory to partake in their annual Christmas midnight mass.
So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get festive in London…
