However, I am not a Travel Agent, so I would not like to preach to you on how beautiful and welcoming Brazil is. Just remember if you do decide to go, then do try to visit as much of the countryside as possible, as the scenery is breathtaking in some places.
On my flight back to London, I got chatting to two Brazilian students who were coming to London to study English. All they could talk about was how much they were looking forward to seeing London, what a beautiful and historic city it was and all the sites they were looking forward to visiting.
There enthusiasm got me thinking about the fact that I have been living in London for over 17 years now, but the only time I go sightseeing is when I have friends or family visiting me. I know that London is full of interesting places to discover, but it was nice to chat about all the other places, cities and locations in the UK, that are worth visiting, such as the Lake District, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Stonehenge, Windsor and Edinburgh. It really got me thinking about the fact that most of us living in London, will always try to go on holidays or short breaks outside UK. But, we are really missing on all the wonderful places that UK has to offer. Yes, the weather may not be the best, but I do belief that the English weather adds something special to visiting these places.
When I first came to London, I used to travel to all the places I mentioned above, to see the history of these beautiful cities and breathtaking scenery. Considering they are all mainly short trips from London, I have promised myself that next time I want to go for a short break I will go to Edinburgh, Oxford or Cambridge, instead of Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and other European cities.
I do believe that as we live in London, we should support the tourism industry in our own country, especially in the current situation. For those of you wanting to visit the beautiful buildings, go to the theatres in the West End (and do some shopping), in London, The Rembrandt Hotel would be glad to welcome you. We also have hotels in Gerrards Cross and Great Malvern. Take a look at our website for the best available rate of the day, http://www.sarova.com/
