My work experience at The Rembrandt
I’m a 10th year student at Tendring Technology collage and we were asked to find a company where we would like to carry out our two weeks of work experience. I choose The Rembrandt Hotel in Knightsbridge, as I had stayed in this hotel before and always wondered what it was like behind the scenes and what the different departments do.
I spent a few days in Human Resources and was amazed to see how busy they get. I also worked in Marketing and Reservations and then for two days in reception, here I helped at the switchboard, which I found confusing, but the people in Reception seemed very friendly.
I spent some time in Aquilla, the health and fitness club, which I enjoyed. It was fun and relaxed it, and atmosphere was nice. Overall the two weeks was a good experience and I learnt a lot of things, but the main thing I took away from this was how hard and tiring work can be and it made me realise that I’m happy to still be in school.
