London Surrey Cycle Race
It’s an exciting time for London as time is ticking and the London 2012 Olympics will be here before we know it. All the preparation of the Olympics and Para Olympics are well on way. We have an exciting event taking place this weekend 14th of August, the London Surrey Cycle challenge for all those cycle lovers who will cycle a 140 km route from Central London to Surrey.
The Olympics began in 776BC in Olympia Greece. These were a series of athletic competitions held for representatives of various city states of ancient Greece in honour of Zeus. During this period only men who speak Greek could participate.
London held the 1st Olympics in the summer of 1908 and 1948 after world war two. Fifty nine nations were represented, 4104 athletes of which 3714, were male participants and 390 were women.
As London gear up to the buzz of the games to come the cycle race will start and finish at the Mall, passing through Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea. Why not stay at the Rembrandt hotel and cheer your loved one through the race whilst they cycle down the Brompton quarter onto Cromwell road.
Good Luck everyone
