My name is Jutta and I am the General Manager at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa. As you can probably imagine no one day is like another and the job is very exciting; last week even more than usual as we had the AA inspector visiting and assessing the hotel.
These assessments are done anonymously, so you don’t know the inspector is in the building until he announces himself or herself at check out. That’s when, as a General Manager, you get the call from reception to tell you that the inspector wants to see you.
I am very confident in my team and was sure we had done well, but still, you always worry what they may have to say about your hotel…
We sat down in the Oak Room and the inspector ran me through his experience from the booking process to arrival at the hotel, lounge service, dinner, the quality of the bedroom, room service, breakfast and check out.
The ratings depend on your product, as well as your service, and I must say I was delighted with his feedback. Every member of the team had done very well and had been as friendly, professional and helpful as I know them.
He really appreciated all the refurbishment work we have already completed and was very impressed with all the changes since his last visit to Sir Christopher Wren.
He awarded us with our four star AA rating and also confirmed a rosette to our chef for the quality of food delivered.
Thanks again to everyone involved; you really made me proud to be your General Manager.
