The sun has finally got his hat on and is coming out to play in Windsor.
On April 30th, Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh welcomed His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
In anticipation of the arrival the streets were filled with people waving flags and waiting for the special party to arrive. Then down the hill, one hundred horses in perfect formation came from the castle followed by the Royal party. It was a sight and sound to be seen. All of those horses, with gleaming saddles and officers in their full official dress, a sight I will never forget.
For those of you who are not from the UK, the Queen loves to stay at the castle in Windsor and enjoys entertaining dignitaries here too. Many of the staff can boast a sighting of the Queen driving in the great park or can recall a conversation with one or another member of the royal family. Just ask the team, we love to talk about it.
Of course I made sure that some of our newer staff were able to go out and watch the parade. Newcomers Nicola, Jon and Andi (pictured) got into the spirit of the occasion by waving union flags as the parade went by.
Andiswa, our new Reception Manager, is very excited to be working and living in Royal Windsor. Since starting with the hotel she has visited all of the sights and has become a bit of an expert on what the area has to offer, especially anything to do with the Queen. She will be more than happy to share her insider knowledge with you.
This summer, make sure you come and see the team here in Windsor and have your very own Royal Windsor Welcome!
Until next time!
