Late nights at the Victoria and Albert Museum

On Fridays the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) remains open until 10pm. The evenings feature tours and special events such as lectures, live jazz or classical music in the galleries, and buffet suppers in the restaurant. Admission to the museum is free but charges may apply for some events. Opening times: 10.00-17.00 daily, Friday 10.00-22.00. Closed 24 – 26 December.

The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army

In introducing the idea of a unified state and effectively creating China in 221 BC, the First Emperor of Qin created what is today the oldest surviving political entity in the world. The exhibition explores one of the archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and provides an insight into China’s First Emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, and his legacy. Objects featured include a number of the world-famous terracotta warriors from Xi’an, China, which were buried alongside the First Emperor in readiness for the afterlife, as well as some of the most striking recent discoveries made on the site.
