Notting Hill Carnival

The vibrant Notting Hill Carnival has been held every August Bank Holiday since 1964 and attracts visitors and performers from all over the world. It is a huge event in the capital’s social calendar and is second only to Rio’s Mardi Gras carnival.Started by Trinidadian immigrants in an effort to bring together the community, the two major features of carnival are Mas, the costumes and masquerade, and Soca, a colourful mixture of Soul and Calypso. Clarence House Summer Tour

Clarence House was built between 1825 and 1827 to the designs of John Nash for Prince William Henry, Duke of Clarence. It was the London home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother from 1953 until 2002 and was also the home of The Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, and The Duke of Edinburgh following their marriage in 1947.
